Designer’s Guide to Print
a publication teaching keen designers the ins and outs of print
'The Ultimate Designer's Guide to Printing Good Sh*t' is a publication teaching keen designers the ins and outs of print - from colour theory, to typography, to the history behind traditional printing and how it has evolved. Aimed towards beginner to mid-level designers, university students, and those who are just genuinely curious about design and the print world.
Instead of constantly Googling answers, reading countless articles and watching Youtube tutorials that are sometimes hard to follow and purchasing over-priced hard copy books, using this comprehensive guide will help people gain insight into current industry print methods and techniques, all in one place.
During the research phase of the design process, I thought about the ways I could differentiate this from similar books on the market. I took inspiration from other books that read well and conveyed mass amounts of information in a fun, engaging way across audiences. I thought that lots of visuals, a conversational writing style and interactive pages would make it more engaging (similar to novelty books, colouring books, picture books and interactive ‘how to’/guide books).
